Apollo Hospital officially a target in Rahul Mahajan drug case

http://rehabology.com/images/rahulm.jpgJust as events in the Rahul Mahajan drug case seemed to be settling into the lull before the inevitable storm of the 14th of September trial start date in a special court, police have told court in a progress report on the case that they will be bringing charges of criminal conspiracy, tampering with evidence and giving false statements against the Apollo Hospital in Delhi, the hospital where Mahajan was rushed to on the early morning of the second of June.

Initially suspected of being poisoned, with initial tests on his urine announced as being negative by the hospital seemingly backing this up, later tests revealed that Mahajan had in fact 30 to 40 times more opiates in him than a negative test would normally reveal.

Police will now conduct forensic tests on various documents from the hospital, as well as look into communications between certain doctors from the hospital and Harish Sharma, the secretary of Rahul Mahajan’s late father, Pramod Mahajan, a former senior leader of the BJP who was slain by his brother in April.

It has always been suspected that something untoward was going on at the hospital, with the rules being broken to favour their high-profile guest, so it will be interesting to see if any more heads will roll in the future, considering the mix of celebrity and politics this case has brought to front pages everywhere in India.

I wonder also how Rahul is handling all of it. And his new wife, Shweta Singh. They got married last week and then flew to the Seychelles on their honeymoon, after being given permission by authorities to do so. They will return on the 11th of September, with Mahajan having to front court a few days later.
