http://rehabology.com/images/ron.jpgWhile the Brazilian football superstar Ronaldinho had a quiet time of it at this year’s World Cup, the Brazilian government is I’m sure hoping the use of his image in some new anti-drugs comic books aimed at kids will have more of an impact.

Launched last month, the “Say Yes to Life” campaign consists of several comic books containing stories and games featuring the Barcelona star as well as characters from an actual comic book series, the popular “Monica’s Gang” (Turma da Mônica in Portuguese). It will be distributed amongst schools throughout the country.

The Brazilian government plans to train 20,000 public school teachers in drug education by the end of the year. The big challenge that must face authorities is how to reach out to the millions of children who live on the street, many of whom are chronic glue sniffers.
