Back in February this year Peter Morgan was attacked in his Edinburgh flat by 33-year-old Stephen Walker for his methadone supplies. Morgan had earlier in the day returned from a pharmacy where he had gone to pick up his methadone. As it happens the pharmacy only had on the spot methadone.
Not happy with this state of affairs, Walker attacked him with his feet and fists before trying, unsuccessfully, to smash his hands with a hammer. He then demanded that Morgan call someone up to deliver him methadone. Morgan knew of no one who could do this. After hearing this Walker stabbed him in the leg.
Luckily for Peter Morgan, at least under the circumstances, council officials with police officers in tow had come to evict him from his flat. Stephen Walker was duly arrested and, in a Sheriff’s Court this week, given, incredibly, only 18 months in jail with a further nine months of supervision after his release. One wonders if he will get in prison what he failed to obtain by force.
