North America, Smuggling, War on Drugs

Why cook at home when you can get it to go?

In what may in the long term be one of the worst cases of “blowback” in the war on drugs in North America it sounds as though methamphetamine use is turning into an even uglier mess than it was already becoming.

In the past year or two federal, state and local governments and their law enforcement agencies, almost nationwide, have made a concerted effort to crack down on and enact legislation in an effort to hamper individuals that traffic in, use and or manufacture (Cook) meth. Most of these tactics have focused on the small time “Cook” (Not to be confused with crook, even though it is still an accurate description) and their lab/kitchens and the hazards these small-scale setups pose to many individuals and the communities in which they live and operate in. The dangers to people and the environment are well documented.

Ingredients in this products manufacture became harder to acquire if not almost impossible to and thus led to a steep drop in small lab busts thus also less need for hazardous material removals. Unfortunately this didn’t correlate into a drop of people seeking treatment for their meth addictions or statewide dumpsites for meth production bye products.

The more negative aspect of these measures and initiatives seems to be that seizures at least in the United States top meth state, California have been not only larger and of extremely pure composition (Much of it coming from Mexico, but hey what isn’t these days?), and with a national mandate to have greater focus on anti terror efforts this does bode ill for many in the general populace and law enforcement.

Why go through the hassle of making Hamburger helper when you can get filet mignon delivered for about the same price?
